The Library of Frederick the Great – A masterpiece of the Rococo
This extraordinary library in the New Palace of Sanssouci is one of the finest examples of courtly interior design of the late 18th century. Century. It was built between 1765 and 1769 under the regency of Frederick II and is part of his last major construction project in Potsdam. The room combines the elegance of the Friderian Rococo with a clear functional structure that reflects the spirit of the Enlightenment.
